YEREVAN. – Armenia is in need of more young anesthesiologists, Minister of Health Armen Muradyan stated Tuesday in the National Assembly.

In his words, however, a lack of anesthesiologists is observed not solely in Armenia, but in France and Germany.

As per Muradyan, one of the main reasons is this profession’s great responsibility for human life, and the need for a wealth of practical knowledge. Consequently, the young professionals normally do not seek this profession.

“That’s why the [state] budget has allocated more than 30 million drams [approx. $63,675] in 2015, to train professionals with this specialty,” the minister noted. “Great attention is paid to the state coverage for the anesthesiologists in residency.”
