Dozens of people were injured in the state of Baja California, Mexico, as a result of clashes between hired agricultural workers and the police.

The protesting workers had decided to close the entrance of a tomato plantation before the plantation staff, and they demanded better working conditions, reported La Jornada.

The police, who had arrived at the scene, however, come to blows with the demonstrators. 

According to various information, thirty to seventy people were injured as a result, and seven of them are in critical condition, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
