YEREVAN. – Petition for rise in price of electricity in Armenia is justified, Energy Minister Yervand Zakharyan told reporters.
“Another thing is the amount of the increase. Here, the commission on the regulation of public service has to decide whether the petition is reasonable,” Minister said.
In general, according to Zakaryan, timely correction of prices is a useful practice.
The current electricity rate is 41.85 drams per 1 kWh during the day and 31.85 at night. However, it is proposed to increase the rate to 58 and 48 drams respectively.
