The CBA Information Department offered NEWS.am explanations in connection with our recent feature entitled “CBA, commercial banks report different data.” It dealt with contradictory reports by the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) and commercial banks. 

According to the CBA, different methods applied by the CBA and commercial banks cause contradictions. Commercial banks apply international standards, whereas the CBA seeks to meet effective control requirements.

NEWS.am objects to the application of different methods, which produces such results. On the other hand, independent analysts cannot make proper analyses. We think the Armenian population has the right to get full and accurate information on the Armenian banking system.
