YEREVAN. – With such a pace of development, Yerevan Zoo—of Armenia’s capital city—can soon become not solely the best in the region, but one of the most noteworthy in the world.

Renowned architect David Hancocks, who had taken part in the development of the new master plan for the zoo back in 2011, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Monday.

Hancocks, who has also worked as zoo director in a variety of countries, considered Yerevan Zoo’s ongoing reforms and development direction to be unprecedented.

Separately, the employee of Natura Artis Magistra (Artis Royal Zoo) of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, landscape designer Tais de Zeu underscored the favorable terrain of Yerevan Zoo.

Yerevan Zoo Director Ruben Khachatryan, who is also Founder of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), for his part, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to Yerevan Municipality, owing to whose enormous contribution, the zoo will open its new season on June 1 with a completely different look.
