YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Deputy FM Ashot Hovakimian had a meeting on Monday with Ms. Maud De Boer-Buquicchio, UN Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
During the meeting, the Rapporteur presented the issues and challenges in the sphere of protection of children’s rights, which she found out in the course of the visit, according to Armenia’s MFA Press Service.
Welcoming the guest, the Deputy FM said that the sphere of child protection always remains in the centre of attention of the Armenian government, being conditioned by special treatment to children. He touched on the work carried out in Armenia in that direction, attaching special importance to the activities implemented in the framework of Armenia’s international obligations.
