YEREVAN. – According to Hraparak daily, the situation is simply catastrophic in the electric networks of Armenia, reported the daily.  

“And if the authorities do not raise the price [of electricity in the country] in the near future, Armenia will switch to regular power outages, again appearing in the vortex of the ‘dark and cold’ years [of the early 1990s] because the debts are so much that it is impossible to ensure the service of the [country’s electricity] system.

“At the same time, the authorities have serious concerns about a social uprising at the threshold of the start of constitutional reforms, ‘but they have no other way out; they will resort to the [electricity price] hike,’ our source informed,” wrote Hraparak.
