Armenian drug addicts mostly use hemp, as it is easier to get and does not cause any serious health damages, RA Head Narcologist Petros Semirjyan told reporters on August 3.
Other opiates are widely used in Armenia. Local drug addicts also use Buprenorphine (Subutex).
The expert said that 80% of the patients have to return to drug abuse clinics.
“Recurrent drug addiction is a social rather than health problem. After treatment the patient comes back to his friends and falls back into his old ways,” Semirjyan said.
