YEREVAN. - After arriving in Armenia on Thursday, Sheikha Mozah, the second of the two wives of the third Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani had a stroll in the centre of capital city Yerevan (photo).

The Sheikha went out of Armenia Marriott hotel and had a walk across Abovyan street, entered a carpet and antique shop, and then headed to the Cascade Complex.  

According to Armenian News – NEWS.am, Sheikha observed the sights with great interest; she stood for a long time in front of the sculptures located in the Charles Aznavour Square, as well as in the Park of Cafesjian Centre for the Arts. During her stroll Sheikha Mozah was accompanied by Armenian Security officers and her own bodyguards. After the stroll, the Sheikha dined at the restaurant ‘Old Erivan.’

Sheikha Mozah, who has broken many stereotypes in the East, has established Arab Democracy Foundation, in which her husband made the first investment in the amount of $10 million. Sheikha Mozah is also the initiator of the idea of turning Qatar into Silicon Valley. For this purpose, Qatar Science and Technology Park was opened in late 2008. The Park has attracted 225 million investments, including from such leading world companies as Microsoft, Shell and General Electric.
