Political activist Vahagn Chakhalyan’s lawyer Stepan Voskanyan was rejected a right to communicate with his client.
The administration of Rustavi city #2 penitentiary reasoned the rejection by invalidity of documents submitted by the lawyer. Voskanyan presented written appeal to Georgian Ombudsman Sozar Subari and Rustavi penitentiary administration.

Ombudsman’s office called the decision of penitentiary administration unsubstantiated.

Yerkir Union considers the ban to communicate with Vahagn Chakahlyan an outrage of Javakheti political activist. The Union called Ombudsman Sozar Subari and international organizations for human rights to esteem “another outrage of Georgian authorities” towards Chakhalyan.
