The regional economic situation will change after a deal has been reached on the Iranian nuclear program, and Armenia, as Iran's neighbor, will take advantage of new favorable conditions, Armenia's Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan said in an interview with Iran's Donye Egtesad newspaper.

Ambassador said many investors will come to Iran, and this will be advantageous to Armenia, too.

Mr. Tumanyan said Iran has already been provided an opportunity to enter 200-million market of the Eurasian Economic Union and to implement numerous joint projects.

According to him, in this context Armenia can be considered as a gateway for Iran.

“In addition, given that negotiations have already begun between Iran and the Eurasian Union around development of conditions of free trade, Armenia can become the best regulatory element. It is necessary to take into account historical and cultural communities between Armenia and Iran, as well as some experience in economic relations, not least in order to achieve success in the negotiations,” he added.
