YEREVAN. – Armenia may become an exporter of technologies to Iran, economist Gagik Makaryan told reporters.

The access of western technologies in Iran has been limited, while Armenia is known for its engineers and IT specialists who can help in modernization of a large Iranian industry that has many branches, Makaryan said.

“Except for oil and gas, Iran has other natural resources, such as metallic ores and nonmentals, while Armenia has processing experience,” he added.

In line with the agreement reached in Vienna on July 14, Iran is supposed to drastically reduce the stock of low-enriched uranium, as well as dismantle some key nuclear facilities, such as heavy water reactor in Arak and Fordow underground enrichment plant.

In return, the EU and the U.S. will lift oil embargo and other trading limitations, as well as will allow Iran to access to Swift electronic banking system.
