YEREVAN. - “Rise up, Armenia” civic initiative will stage a 72-hour sit-in against electricity price hike in the centre of Yerevan Republic Square.

The statement issued with this regard particularly says: “A month has passed after the statement of [Armenia’s President] Serzh Sargsyan on June 27, but the issue on the electricity tariff rise has not yet been regulated.  

For this reason, the Council of “Rise up, Armenia” civic initiative has decided to stage a 72-hour sit-in, against all the requirements originally raised by the citizens during the protest in [Yerevan’s] Baghramyan Avenue.”

The number of the sit-in participant during the first 24 hours (from 18:00 of July 27 till 18:00 of July 28) will not exceed 30 people. During the second day (from 18:00 of July 28 till 18:00 of July 29) that number will reach 60, while the third day (from 18:00 on July 29 till 18:00 of July 30) will end up in overall 90 protestors.
