YEREVAN. – The Coordination Council of Armenian-Russian Organizations has issued a statement supporting well-known Russian businessman German Sterligov, who recently settled in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) with his wife and children.

“German, son of Lvov, has settled in the ancient Armenian City of Shushi [in Karabakh]. In response, the authorities of neighboring Azerbaijan declared an international search against Mr. Sterligov via the INTERPOL, and put him on the [Azerbaijan MFA] blacklist [of foreigners that have visited Nagorno-Karabakh without the knowledge of the Azerbaijani authorities].

“Baku, after its defeat in the war imposed upon Artsakh in 1994, has resembled a resentful child that in no way can reconcile with the expression of the will of the people of Artsakh.

“Baku fears that the real picture of the situation in Karabakh will become known to the world.

“The Coordination Council of Armenian-Russian Organizations considers the politicization of Russian businessman German Sterligov’s relocation to the NKR to be uncalled-for. Mr. Sterligov has repeatedly stated that this country appeals to him.

“So, Baku, by declaring a search for him, recognizes the NKR as a foreign territory,” the statement specifically reads.
