The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has sued the co-chair of the country’s pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP), Selahattin Demirtas.

Erdogan’s attorneys filed two lawsuits against Demirtas claiming that he had accused the Turkish president of involvement in the recent bombing in  Suruç—a rural district of Şanlıurfa Province of Turkey—, and in the “Great Bribery” corruption scandal, reported T24.com website of Turkey.

The lawyers ask for 50,000 (approx. $18,042) and 20,000 (approx. $7,217) liras in compensation, respectively.

To note, Selahattin Demirtas is a Kurdish politician that recognizes the Armenian Genocide.
