YEREVAN. – The Armenian issue is not among the matters on Turkey’s current agenda because the Kurdish issue is now the priority for this country, said turkologist Gevorg Petrosyan, at a press conference on Wednesday.

In Petrosyan’s words, Turkey continues to confront its underlying problems, and it is in an unstable domestic political situation.

As per the turkologist, however, the Turkish-Kurdish clashes are somewhat advantageous for Armenia.

“The internal unstable situation in Turkey is in Armenia’s interests, to some extent, for the simple reason that Turkey focuses on its internal problems not being able to focus on the fight against Armenia in the external front,” concluded Gevorg Petrosyan.
