YEREVAN. – Armenian national squad and Olympique Marseille defender Gael Andonian had to play as a left back during the Armenia vs. Denmark EURO 2016 qualifying match.

“Levon Hayrapetyan who is playing as a left back was injured during Serbia match, and the coach said I will play in this position,” he told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent Vera Martirosyan.

Andonian said he used to play in this position in the youth team, but never did during his professional career.

“I had time to adapt to the game, but then I did my best,” he added.

Speaking about his adaptation in the national squad, Andonian said Henrikh Mkhitaryan helped him much because he speaks French.

“I am trying to trying to justify the trust that coach, team mates and fans have placed in me. I'm trying to do my best,” he resumed.
