ETCHMIADZIN. – Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Wednesday received Armenian Catholic Patriarch Krikor Bedros XX Gabroyan during his first visit to Armenia.
His Holiness Karekin II congratulated Patriarch on his election and noted with satisfaction that in recent years the relations of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church are developing.
In this regard, Catholicos of All Armenians gratefully remembered the Mass delivered on April 12 by Pope Francis in St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican in connection with the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the message of the Pope on the prevention of new crimes and genocides. Karekin II confirmed that in modern world the Church may lead the way to justice only through joint efforts.
During the meeting, Patriarch Krikor Bedros XX Gabroyan said he will make every effort to use his spiritual experience to strengthen relations with the Armenian Apostolic Church.
