President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received, at Dilijan Research and Training Center, the Governor of Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina; Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tolkunbek Abdygulov; Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Kalechits; and the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Oleg Smolyakov.

These officials have arrived in Armenia to take part in the 11th meeting of the Advisory Board on Monetary Policy of Central/National Banks of Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

At the working dinner, chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia and the heads of the delegations from the abovementioned countries presented to Sargsyan the agenda of this meeting to be held on Friday.

At this meeting, discussants plan to confer on the current economic situation in the EEU states—which comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and most recently, Kyrgyzstan—, touch upon the implementation of monetary policies, the measures for macroeconomic and financial risk management, the ongoing works toward the synchronization of financial laws, matters pertaining to collaboration in payment systems.

The President wished the meeting participants success and productive work. He also expressed the hope that the heads of the central/national banks will be able to discuss the urgent items on the EEU agenda in a constructive climate, and develop effective mechanisms to coordinate the macroeconomic policies of the member states, taking into account the current global and regional economic trends.
