One of the craters, in which water was detected on Mars was named after the village of Garni in Armenia, Asbarez reported.
NASA and the US Geological Survey named the crater on April 24 of this year.
In June, 2001, NASA opened a space museum in Garni and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Garni Institute of Armenia to work on joint projects.
NASA’s announcement that there are traces of water on Mars was made on Monday.
