At the moment Azerbaijan is not ready to accept the already available constructive proposals on normalizing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Polish expert Mateus Piskorski, Director of the European Centre for Geopolitical Analysis, told Armenian News – NEWS.am

Referring to the possible meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents before the end of the current year, he said: “A high-level meeting will be meaningful only in case there is a certain proposal on normalizing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The best forum for drawing up proposals for all the parties is indeed the OSCE Minsk Group.”

Over the last several years, he said, the leadership of Armenia is showing quite a constructive stance on different proposals. “But unfortunately the Azerbaijani leadership has so far blocked the possibility of a dialogue. Genuine political will from the side of Azerbaijan is needed. Of course, it’s necessary to stop cases of ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side on the line of contact in the zone of Karabakh conflict,” Piskorski said.

The OSCE Minks Group Co-Chairs’ visit to Yerevan is scheduled for October 26. They will visit Azerbaijan on October 28.
