Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, conveyed a letter of condolence to the President of France Francois Hollande on occasion of yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, which claimed the lives of 120-150 people.

“It is with deep sorrow and indignation that we followed the terror attacks in Paris last night. Indeed, the Armenian people – subjected to collective terrorism or Genocide - and the Armenian Church, know due their own experience what it means to shed the blood of innocent people

“Terrorism is a universal human evil, against which the world’s all religions, cultures, civilizations and nations are called to strike a collective attitude to nip it in the bud,” Aram I’s letter reads.

In the letter, the Catolicos also noted that they share the pain and indignation and stand with the friendly French people.

“We are praying for the souls of the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks and offer our deep condolences to their families,” he stressed.

Simultaneous terrorist attacks occurred Friday evening in six different parts of the French capital city.

The attacks claimed over 150 lives and injured numerous people.
