YEREVAN. – The Yerevan Children and Youth Figure Skating and Ice Hockey School has been named after renowned Russian figure skater, public figure and State Duma member, Irina Rodnina.
Henceforth, the aforesaid school—in the capital city of Armenia—will operate in the building of the newly-constructed figure skating school, and under Rodnina’s guidance.
“The fact that the school is named after me, I believe, first and foremost, is a result of the friendship of our countries and the figure skating tradition in our country,” Irina Rodnina told reporters.
President Serzh Sargsyan also attended Saturday’s opening of this school.
