YEREVAN. - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia today turned down the proposal of the Chairman of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary faction Levon Zurabyan and the “Citizen Observer” initiative on extending the deadline of wrapping up the referendum results.

An incident took place during the session, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent. When Levon Zurabyan presented the facts which allegedly proved the rigged referendum results, one of the “Citizen Observer” initiative representatives, Gohar Khachatryan, applauded, thus sparking the dissatisfaction of the CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan.

The latter asked Gohar Khachatryan to leave the CEC Conference Hall, which angered the attendees, many of whom also started applauding.

During the CEC session, another proposal by ANC, namely to open any 5 ballot boxes  and count the votes, was made. This proposal was also turned down.
