YEREVAN. – Roads in Armenia are primarily drivable as of Friday 9am, informed the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

But Vardenyats (Selim) Pass and several intercommunity highways in Shirak Province are closed for traffic.

A section of the Areni-Khachik motorway in Vayots Dzor Province is closed for one-way traffic, and due to the ongoing activities to blast a rock on this section of the highway.

Some other motorways and intercommunity roads are difficult to pass.

The road crews are scattering salt and sand on the motorways and are also cleaning them to ensure safe travel.

The ministry advises drivers to travel on these motorways solely when absolutely necessary and with winter tires on their vehicles.

The ministry’s divisions on duty are carrying out their services in an enhanced mode.

And according to the information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia, the country’s Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is open for all vehicles—except for semi-trailer trucks—with chained wheels.
