YEREVAN. – The lifting of sanctions on Iran will boost the economies of Armenia and Russia.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Gagik Minasyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday.
In his words, the lifting of these sanctions will somewhat boost Russia’s economy, with all its positive impact—i.e. a growth in the Russians’ purchasing power and a greater flow of remittances from Russia—for Armenia.
As for Armenia-Iran ties, the plans have already been announced to construct a new thermal power station in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. In addition, a new Armenia-Iran electric power transmission line is being built since August 2015.
