YEREVAN. – Several conclusions can be drawn from the latest list of the 1,000 large taxpayers in Armenia.

In the reporting period, the “largest” taxpayers paid less tax than last year.

The current drop in tax payments in Armenia can be linked to the apparent crisis in the country’s economy.

Retail trade recorded a significant decline in Armenia in the year past.

The current profits of the country’s telecommunication companies also have reduced in terms of mobile phone services.

As a result, the total tax revenues of Armenia’s state budget have decreased.

The country’s natural monopolies, whose tangible profits are objective, are still atop the list of the largest taxpayers.

In addition, representatives of the business sectors, which in fact should be competitors, likewise are on the top of this list.
