YEREVAN. - The joint assembly-march of 6 opposition forces (Armenian National Congress (ANC), People’s Party of Armenia, New Armenia Public Salvation Front, Union for National Self-Determination, “Armenia” initiative and Civil Agreement Party) in memory of victims of 1 March 2008 tragedy ended by the monument to Alexander Myansikyan in Yerevan.
The politicians and the rest of the participants laid flowers at the monument. Later they moved in direction of the Liberty Square (photos).
The policemen also laid flowers at the monument.
As a result of the government-opposition resistance, 8 demonstrators and 2 servicemen of the Internal Troops died in downtown Yerevan on March 1 2008. Nobody has so far been punished for the murder of these people.
