YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will convene a special National Security Council meeting, on Saturday evening,
Azerbaijan’s most recent aggressive actions along its Line of Contact with Nagorno-Karabakh, and related matters will be on the agenda of this talk.
On his way back from the US, Sargsyan was immediately briefed regarding the exacerbation of the situation along the Line of Contact.
In Presidential Press Secretary Vladimir Hakobyan’s words, the President’s plane will land in capital city Yerevan in the coming hours.
As reported earlier, Azerbaijan launched outright offensive military actions along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, from late Friday night through Saturday morning, and using a variety of weaponry as well as artillery, armored vehicles, and air force.
Not only the defensive positions of the Armenian armed forces, but also peaceful settlements were subjected to missile and artillery attacks.
According to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army, Vaghinak Grigoryan (born in 2004) was killed, and two other children were wounded on Saturday at around 8:30am, as a result of the Azerbaijani armed forces’ missile and shelling attack toward the defensive positions in NKR Martuni Region.
