The French authorities have urged the conflicting parties to strictly observe the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh and insist on the need of resuming negotiations to resolve the situation, French Foreign Ministry Spokesman Romain Nadal said, RIA Novosti reported.
Nadal’s statement said that France is concerned about the incidents near the line of contact. France regrets the loss of human lives, in particular the civilians, that were caused by these incidents.
“We urge all parties to observe the ceasefire,” he added.
Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the conflict, which can not be resolved for three decades, can be resolved only through negotiations between the parties under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group -- the work that Paris supports.
Nadal also mentioned that France calls for the immediate return to the negotiating table.
“We will not spare efforts to achieve this goal,” Nadal resumed.
