President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Pedro Agramunt called for de-escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Opening the spring session of PACE, Agramunts deplored violence on the line of contact and urged the parties to respect the ceasefire.

The head of PACE mentioned that although the Council of Europe has no direct mandate to be involved in the Karabakh conflict, he believes the parliamentary diplomacy may help.

He urged to build bridges to install confidence and trust for meaningful discussion for the settlement of the conflict.

PACE President reiterated his support “for territorial integrity” and called for “international law to be implemented”.

Mr. Agramunt once again reminded of “occupied Azerbaijani territories” but did not mention Azerbaijan’s aggression against Karabakh, He neither mentioned the killing of an Armenian boy near a school in Martakert, nor the civilians brutally killed by Azerbaijani soldiers in the village of Talish.

He also did not speak a word about tortured bodies of the Armenian soldiers.
