More than 60,000 people on Sunday gathered outside the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles, California, USA, to protest Ankara’s continued denial of the Armenian Genocide and to commemorate the 101st anniversary of that crime, reported Asbarez Armenian daily newspaper of the US.

The Rally for Justice, which was organized by the Armenian Genocide Committee, brought together the Los Angeles Armenian community, the American Armenian youth, and several dozen federal, state and local officials.

The demonstrators demanded justice for the Armenian Genocide from the Turkish government.

The program included presentations from US Congress members Adam Schiff, Loretta Sanchez and Tony Cadenas; California State Assembly members Scott Wilk and Adrin Nazarian; and Los Angeles City Council members Paul Krekorian and Paul Korets.
