YEREVAN. – We should not resort to unilateral actions which will place everyone in an awkward situation, said Artak Zakaryan, head of the International Liaisons’ Standing Committee, MPs Zaruhi Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan оn May 16 , during discussion of including “А bill on recognition of Artsakh " into the agenda.

According to him, Karabakh is an established state. Even such an international organization as the Freedom House pinpointed to that in a number of reports, comparing it with Azerbaijan.

"But the issue is still maturing , and we should not take unilateral steps that will put everyone -- us and our partners -- in an awkward situation and will prevent anyone from  becoming participants of [Karabakh’s] international recognition, in accordance with relevant criteria and a logic of peaceful settlement. Now we need to focus our efforts on that,” Zakaryan said.
