YEREVAN. - HSBC corporation considers its Armenian subsidiary as one of the best ones in the region, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Arthur Javadyan said at the discussion on the CBA monetary policy project for 2016 in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Thursday.

“Talks on the leaving of that bank is mere hearsay. They don’t have such intentions. I have recently met with their head on international operations, and he noted that he considers the work of the bank successful.  This is especially significant, if compared with the other countries of the region,” Javadyan added. Specifically, the bank has left only investment bloc in Russia, leaving the retail trade. It has also shut down its offices in Georgia and Azerbaijan, leaving one of the Baltic countries and closing 42 departments in Turkey.
