YEREVAN. – Armenian opposition ANC bloc issued a statement on the resolution adopted on June 4 by the European Party of Liberals and Democrats Union (ALDE), calling on Azerbaijan to suspend the right to vote in PACE.

As noted in a statement, the ALDE meeting was attended by ANC representative Vladimir Karapetyan.

The participants approved membership of new parties – Spain’s Ciudadano, Poland’s Nowoszesna and Ukraine’s Civic Position

The meeting also adopted political six political resolutions with three of them referring to the South Caucasus.

In particular, the resolution on “Promotion of Civil Society in Azerbaijan: an Appeal to European Institutions” condemns Aliyev's dictatorship. The resolution calls to suspend Azerbaijani delegation’s right to vote in PACE. The delegates also urged ALDE faction in the European Parliament to offer adoption of sanctions against Azerbaijan.
