YEREVAN. - Armenia-based Technology and Science Dynamics (TSD) company introduced ArmPhone smartphones Monday. Company Director Vahan Shakaryan told journalists that the Armenian specialists make the entire design and configuration of the phones. Following this, the relevant components are ordered abroad, which are then assembled in Armenia.

Earlier, the company had announced about its plans to study the opportunities of producing or ordering certain components on the ground, starting with the stamping of plastic body frames. ''There is such manufacturing in Armenia, but unfortunately their quality doesn't satisfy us,'' Shakaryan said.

The company can produce 500 smartphones in one shift, and can also switch to 3-shift work if necessary.

The phone's software is fully Armenian: Armenian Android interface, keyboard and ringtones.

''Authors of Armenian language applications haven't yet turned to us, but we are ready to include the free applications free of charge. But if they pursue profit, we can consider options for cooperation,'' he said.

''Telephones provide guarantees pursuant to the "No questions asked" scheme. It applies to all technical failures, only if you haven't intentionally thrown your phone on the floor. But if it has broken down for some other reason, we won't repair it; We just take it and give you a new one,'' Shakaryan added.

Depending on the model, the price for the phones varies between 50 to 150,000 AMD ($310-315).
