YEREVAN. – The international credit ratings of Armenia’s banks remain stable, Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Deputy Chairman Nerses Yeritsyan told reporters during Thursday’s opening of the Fitch Ratings symposium in capital city Yerevan.

In his words, two to three banks in Armenia will soon publicize their ratings, and by and large, these ratings are improving.

Yeritsyan noted that most of the banks in Armenia already have international ratings, and twelve of them are already issuing securities in the international market.

“Having investor confidence, all this enables the banks [in Armenia] to attract funds with more favorable conditions,” said the CBA official. “And one of the objectives is to issue local currency securities for international institutional investors.”
