PARIS. – Even people who are not football fans know that Euro 2016 kicks off Friday, in France.

When speaking about Euro 2016, we need to recall that this European football tournament was first held in France, too. This time, however, everything was going against this event, before its start. The most severe example of this, of course, was the terrorist attacks in Paris, last November. But on Friday, June 10, 2016, the French capital city is fully ready for Euro 2016.

Nonetheless, we still come across gendarmes armed with guns everywhere. According to preliminary data, 30 thousand police officers will preserve the peace of the football fans.

But Paris is full of tourists as always, regardless football.

A huge show, with the participation of well-known contemporary French singers was held in Paris on the eve of the Euro 2016 kick-off. Subsequently, world-renowned French DJ David Guetta simply “blasted” the French capital city. 

Eleven stadiums in ten French cities are fully ready to host the Euro 2016 matches.

Eighteen year ago, France organized one of the best World Cups in football history. And now, it must prove that this Euro will be the best ever.

Euro 2016 already stands out with many things. For example, not 16 but 24 countries will compete in this tournament, for the first time in history. In addition, Iceland, Albania, Northern Ireland, and Wales are taking part in this competition for the first time.

Let us hope that this time we will see solely great football, beauty, and lots of goals in France.
