The Gallup agency issued the results of a research carried out in 114 countries to reveal the religious level. Overall 84% of adults claim that religion is important part of their life. According to the sociologists, religiousness is directly affected by living standards. The poorer people are the more religious they become.

Asked whether religion is important in their life, 73% of Armenians said ‘yes”, while 23% gave a negative response. The same indicators in Georgia totaled 81% and 16% respectively, whereas in Azerbaijan – 50% and 49%, in Turkey – 82% and 15%, 34% of respondents called themselves religious in Russia.

According to the agency, the most religious countries are Bangladesh, Nigeria, Yemen and Indonesia where 99% of populations consider themselves religious. Estonia appeared to be the most irreligious state, where only 16% of population thinks that religion is important part of their life.
