Protesters set the parliament building in Gabon to fire, reports the AFP. Thousands of people went to the streets to protest against the re-election of the President Ali Bongo. The security forces deployed in Gabon on August 30 were called back.
There are other important institutions in the street where the parliament building is located – the buildings of the Senate, ministries, several embassies, and the headquarters of the state television. The clashes began after Bongo had win the presidential elections.
