On October 15, Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, son of the first Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, announced his intention to run for presidency in 2013. Gamsakhurdia junior, who is a crossbencher, made the statement in an interview with the Rustavi-2 TV channel.

Konstantin Gamsakhurdia pointed out that the 2013 presidential election will be held under Georgia’s new constitution. He will vote for the constitution though he did not take part in the voting on the first or second reading.
