The Obama administration agreed to back the lifting of United Nations sanctions on two Iranian state banks blacklisted for financing Iran’s ballistic-missile program on the same day in January that Tehran released four American citizens from prison, The Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the newspaper, it is about Sepah and Sepah International banks which were under UN sanctions until 2023. On the same day, when Tehran freed U.S citizens from jail, these sanctions were lifted.
