By Aida Hovhannisyan from Strasbourg

After a failed coup Turkish authorities are closing Kurdish media, including children's and music programs, without any reasons, Med Nuc spokesman Ferda Cetin stated during discussion in PACE.

According to him, only on September 28  the office of Turkish PM  issued decrees on closing of 12 television companies and 11 radio companies, including Govend TV music channel, TV channel of animated films Zarok TV, information channel IMC TV, Med Nuc TV, the correspondent of Armenian News-NEWS.am reported from Strasbourg.

Ferda Cetin noted that closing of the channels was explained by the fact that their broadcasting allegedly threatened public safety.

The press conference has been convened at the initiative of the member of the Turkish delegation, the member of Peoples' Democratic Party Ertugrul Kurkcu.

He reported that after the July events more than 120 journalists and writers have undergone criminal prosecution, about 2,000 journalists have lost their jobs.
