On October 21, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received Chairman of the Russian Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin. He has arrived in Armenia to participate in the international conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of RA Constitution.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that this year’s first state visit of the Russian President to Armenia gave an impetus to strengthening of the Armenian-Russian relations in all fields, RA presidential press service informed NEWS.am.
He also attached significance to cooperation and exchange of experience between both countries’ constitutional courts. The President stressed that the CC is the most developed state institution in Armenia, adding that in 2005 amendments were made enabling RA citizens to appeal to the CC. Presently the CC is effectively protecting constitutional rights of the Armenian citizens, he added.
Valery Zorkin highly appreciated cooperation between the Russian and Armenian constitutional courts, adding that relations are successfully developed in the international scene as well.
