YEREVAN. – The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Vigen Sargsyan, presented a report to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The report was with respect to the completion of the development of a program aimed at sharply increasing the state insurance payment for cases of the country’s soldiers’ losing their lives, or becoming disabled, during military actions and combat duty.

The President, for his part, underscored the respective work that was done, and gave new instructions for the implementation phase of this program.

“Now, the time has come that we are capable of dramatically improving this situation, with the help of our citizens,” Serzh Sargsyan said, in particular.

Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, in turn, reported that this program is designed within the logic of “nation-army.” 

Separately, the President stressed that the appeal of military education and officer service needs to be increased in Armenia.
