The eyes of the Armenian community of U.S. are open: we know how to act in the political system of this country.

Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Aram Hamparian, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

Touching on the results of the U.S. presidential elections and the victory of the Republican candidate Donald Trump, Aram Hamparian noted that the Armenians have already learnt that during an election campaign no U.S. presidential candidate and political party can be a key to the solution of their problems. According to him, the actual driving force and key to Armenians’ success in the United States of America is the organization of their community and energy exerted on the political processes.  Hamparian noted that they are ready to work with Donald Trump and the White House for solving their problems. But at the same time, the Armenians realize that the most valuable thing is their force and will, and thus they should work with political leaders and rely only on themselves, he noted.

Asked how Trump’s election will impact the U.S. foreign policy, specifically in the direction of the South Caucasus, the ANCA Executive Director stressed that first of all, during the campaign there was no mention about the country’s foreign policy and South Caucasus. Secondly, everyone knows that election campaigns have their specific logic, he noted. In his words, the campaign differs from real government and thus they must see facts, words being of no significance.

“Our eyes are open. We have repeatedly faced similar issues during the government of different presidents: we saw Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama. We know who these people are and how we should act in this system,” he stressed.

Republican Party candidate Donald Trump, who is notorious for his extravagant statements and promises to normalize ties with Russia, won the 2016 U.S. presidential elections Wednesday.
