President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan told Sputnik Armenia that he stands ready to meet with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

“We [i.e. the Armenian side] have never refused any meeting, whether it be at the level of the President, the FM, [and] even [a] working [meeting],” Sargsyan said in an interview with renowned Russian journalist Dmitry Kiselyov. “But we always favor that these meetings bring benefit, that there will be some progress. If there is no progress, if we meet but then the arrangements are not implemented, what benefit from these meetings?”

As per President Sargsyan, the Armenian party wishes and stands ready to sign an agreement “right away tomorrow, right away tonight” on creating a mechanism for investigation of ceasefire violations.

“We want for both the [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group] co-chairs and the international community to clearly know who violates the ceasefire regime,” added Serzh Sargsyan.
