YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. The latter has arrived in Armenia to attend the 4th international conference “Anticounterfeit 2016.”

The President attached importance to the conference, which is held in the framework of the event entitled “Counteraction to the illegal turnover of goods: Reality and Prospects.”

Sargsyan considered the event necessary and useful, stressing that the conference is a very good platform for the dialogue between the representatives of the authorities of the EAEU member-states, public, academic circles and business community.

“The struggle against the illegal turnover of industrial production is part of the great work, which we are carrying out in our countries to improve the business environment.

Cooperation issues in the industrial and trade sphere are important elements on the interstate agenda, thus we attach importance to your visit also from that viewpoint, and we are glad to discuss the potential and opportunities for developing bilateral ties,” the President said at the meeting with the Rusian Minister.

Minister Denis Manturov, for his part, underscored the importance of the issues discussed in the framework of the “Anticounterfeit” conference, as well as the solutions given to them for any country, including the economies of developed countries. He also thanked the Armenian side for hosting the 4th international conference at a high level.

Apart from this, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the strengthening of trade and economic ties and deepening of cooperation.
