Poland plans to require UK to preserve freedoms of EU internal market , said the Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski during his visit to Ireland.

Waszczykowski met with the Polish community in Dublin, where he discussed the situation of Polish migrants after the Brexit. He said, if the British government intends to stay in the EU market, they will have to ensure the freedom for Poles who live in the UK. "We believe that the status of Poles who live in the UK should be symmetrical, ie the same, as the status of Britons who live in the EU.”

“We are going to require Great Britain to ensure four freedoms enshrined in the EC Treaty, namely free movement of goods, services, capital, and people,” said Waszczykowski, reports the Polish Radio.

As Waszczykowski considers, negotiations between London and Brussels can last for several years. He noted, that Brexit will be the chief topic of today's talks with Ireland’s Foreign Minister Charles Flanagan.
