YEREVAN. - Defense is the sphere, which enjoys the backing of all the political forces of Armenia.
Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan said the aforementioned on Saturday, at a press conference following the 16th Congress of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
In his words, one of the most important pieces of advice in the speech of the Armenian President and RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan was that the defense is becoming one of the key issues for Armenia.
“During my office, I have had occasions (both during the budgetary debates in the National Assembly and the discussion of the bill proposed by me) to realize that the defense is the sphere, where we enjoy the backing of all the political forces and political parties represented in the parliament. Consequently, we have a great amount of work to do. I am disposed very decisively to ensure effective implementation of this work,” Sargsyan noted.
According to him, the ideology of nation-army indeed becomes a key direction of work for all of us. “This means that we will do our best for our Armed Forces to become more transparent and comprehensible, as well as for it to enjoy universal respect so that people feel not only love but also realized deep confidence towards the entire officer staff and army in general,” the Defense Minister concluded.
